Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN/RNLD) to perform nursing assessments, create and review care plans, and administer medicines. You will contribute to audits and support recovery and risk management within a secure, patient-centred environment.

The role requires a current NMC PIN, with 38.5 hours per week across day and night shifts. Newly qualified or experienced RMNs are welcome to apply.

Job description

Registered Mental Health Nurse post at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, which provides emergency admissions for men and women and a rehabilitation pathway for women, including a personality disorder service. The role centres on nursing assessments, written reports, care plans and medicines administration, alongside audit work and support for recovery and risk management. It is 38.5 hours a week across a mix of day and night shifts. A current PIN is required, and newly qualified or experienced nurses are both considered.

What the job involves

• Produce written reports based on nursing assessments and observations
• Maintain individual care plans with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals, under NMC guidelines
• Administer prescribed medicines following healthcare procedures and guidelines
• Work with the management team to develop the service, audit and improve quality
• Focus on patient recovery, monitoring, managing and reducing risk
• Help empower and support service user independence
• Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge and promote nursing
