Job description

A Registered Mental Health Nurse post at Cygnet Hospital Hexham, a 27-bed mental health unit for women with complex needs, run by Cygnet Health Care. The work centres on written reports from nursing assessments, individual care plans with residents and relatives, medicines administration, and audit with the management team. The hospital is designed around a therapeutic environment in the Tyne valley, with a 42-hour working week. Applicants need current NMC registration with a PIN and experience as an RMN or RNLD.

What the job involves

• Write detailed reports based on nursing assessments and observations
• Work with the management team to develop the service, audit and improve quality
• Attend all training and engage in CPD to build knowledge and promote nursing
• Maintain individual care plans under NMC guidelines, with residents, relatives and other healthcare professionals
• Administer medicines in line with healthcare procedures and Healthcare Commission guidelines
