Job description

Take a lead in facilitating the day-to-day functioning of the Clozapine Clinic, with support and guidance from qualified professionals such as the nursing team, consultants, and pharmacists. Monitor the effects and side effects of Clozapine medication in the community, with guidance from relevant professionals. Administer intramuscular injections, monitor their effects, and communicate accurately with patients according to trust policies. Undertake venepuncture after relevant training and ongoing guidance.

Perform physical health checks, interpret results, and respond to concerns appropriately. Participate in the running of the ECT clinic, including handovers, management, and patient recovery on the ECT pathway.

Contribute to team-based nursing by assessing, planning, and implementing care programs for individual clients, supporting patients, and referring to other agencies as needed. Evaluate and modify care plans in line with the Care Programme Approach and assist in discharge planning. Engage in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to clinical decisions.

Participate in group caseloads with team support, maintain accurate and confidential nursing records, and support the development of service standards. Participate in clinical audits, implement new initiatives based on research, and engage in clinical supervision.
