About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Manager to lead a 2-bed children's home in Milton Keynes, specialising in supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. As the Registered Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the home, maintain compliance with Ofsted standards, and lead a committed team to deliver exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the management and operation of a 2-bed children's home, ensuring high-quality care for young people with EBD.
Ensure full compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and all relevant legislation.
Develop and implement individualised care plans, promoting the emotional, physical, and social well-being of residents.
Lead, motivate, and support a team of care staff, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
Manage budgets, resources, and staffing rotas to ensure efficient operation of the home.
Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including local authorities, social workers, and families.
Drive continuous improvement in care standards, ensuring the home meets or exceeds regulatory expectations.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for inspections and audits.
Candidate Requirements
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Previous experience as a Registered Manager in a children's residential setting, ideally with EBD experience.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children's residential care standards.
Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and support staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with young people and stakeholders.
A compassionate, resilient, and solution-focused approach to working with vulnerable children.
Ability to manage challenging situations and maintain a calm, professional demeanour.
