Job summary

Office Angels UK is seeking a Registered Manager to lead a new children's home in the Devon area. You will drive Ofsted registration, oversee day-to-day management and recruit a high-performing team to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive.

You will shape culture from day one, ensure safeguarding and regulatory compliance, and work toward excellent outcomes for children in care. A driving licence and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Level 5 Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare qualification, or willingness to work towards this.
  • Level 3 Children's Workforce Diploma (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years residential childcare experience.
  • Previous supervisory, Deputy Manager, Registered Manager or management experience within a care setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Children's Homes Regulations, Ofsted requirements and best practice within residential childcare.
  • Experience leading, supporting and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • A passionate and driven individual committed to improving outcomes for children in care.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Ofsted registration process and support the successful opening of the home.
  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the children's home.
  • Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, Ofsted requirements and safeguarding legislation.
  • Recruit, develop and lead a committed and high-performing staff team.
  • Create a positive, nurturing and child-centred culture within the home.
  • Ensure the welfare, safety and development of children remain at the heart of everything the service delivers.
  • Support budget management, effective resource use and promote a strong health and safety culture for children and staff.
  • Develop positive relationships with local authorities, families and external professionals.
  • Drive continuous improvement and positive outcomes for children.

Registered Manager - New Children's Home

Location: Newton Abbot, Devon

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum DOE

Hours: Permanent - Full-time, 9.00am to 5.00pm with flexibility around the needs of the home

Benefits: Performance-related bonus, 33 days annual leave, standard pension contribution and on-call allowance (TBC)

  • Competitive salary package of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience.
