Job summary

Brook Street Social Care is recruiting a Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead an Ofsted-registered home in Tring, Hertfordshire. You will drive safeguarding, care planning, and staff development while delivering outstanding outcomes for children and young people.

You will manage budgets, liaise with local authorities, and contribute to service improvements. A Level 5 Diploma and 3 years in senior leadership are required; driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People’s Services (or working towards).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior leadership role within children's residential care.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and Children’s Homes Standards.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation of the children's residential home, ensuring Ofsted compliance.
• Lead and develop a team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
• Manage safeguarding, care planning, records, and regulatory compliance.
• Recruitment, supervision, performance management and training of staff.
• Liaise with local authorities, social workers, families and professionals.
• Manage budgets and resources for efficient service delivery.
• Lead service improvement plans to achieve positive outcomes.

Children's Home Registered Manager
Location: Tring, Hertfordshire
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + Performance Bonus
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week

Brook Street Social Care is recruiting on behalf of a well-established children's residential care provider seeking an experienced and passionate Children's Home Registered Manager to lead an Ofsted-registered home supporting children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the children's residential home, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
• Ensure safeguarding practices are embedded throughout the service and promote the welfare of all young people.
• Manage staff recruitment, supervision, performance management, and training.
• Maintain excellent standards of care planning, record keeping, and regulatory compliance.
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, families, and external professionals.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Develop and implement service improvement plans to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Participate in the management on-call rota as required.

Requirements
Essential

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services (or working towards).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior leadership role within children's residential care.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding legislation, and Children's Homes Standards.
• Proven leadership and people management experience.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

• Experience leading a children's home through Ofsted inspections.
• Relevant degree or Registered Manager qualification.
• Track record of achieving positive outcomes and service improvements.
