Job summary

Invigor Adolescent Care seeks a Residential Childrens Home Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a residential home in Atherton, Wigan. You will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee care planning, and supervise a dedicated team including a deputy manager.

Applicants should have Level 5 Leadership & Management in Residential Childcare (or be working towards it), plus 2+ years in residential childcare with supervisory experience. DBS required.

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
• Sound knowledge of the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the looked-after children framework.
• Experience with children with complex needs, trauma, and emotional/behavioural difficulties.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

About the role

Here at Invigor Adolescent Care we support children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We aim to provide positive experiences and give opportunities to learn, grow and engage in a healthy, safe lifestyle which will empower individuals to progress towards a better life and in doing so prepare them for independent living.

We are looking for Residential Children's Home Manager to join our specialist team who would love to support our children (up to the age of 17 years old).

As part of your role your duties will include:

• Lead the day-to-day management and operation of a residential children's home
• Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and all seven Quality Standards
• Hold Ofsted registration as Registered Manager and maintain the home's Statement of Purpose
• Lead, supervise, and develop a dedicated staff team including senior support workers and a deputy manager
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for the home
• Oversee care planning for all children, ensuring plans are person-centred, up to date, and regularly reviewed
• Build and maintain strong relationships with placing authorities, social workers, IROs, CAMHS, and education providers
• Drive continuous improvement through robust quality assurance, auditing, and reflective practice
• Manage statutory notifications to Ofsted and lead the home through inspections with confidence

What We Are Looking For:

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
• Sound knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the wider looked-after children framework
• Proven experience working with children with complex needs, trauma, and emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing allegations and child protection concerns
• Excellent communication, record keeping, and organisational skills
• Enhanced DBS check required
