Job description

Our client cares for children and young people who present complex needs, learning disabilities and who require emotional and behavioural support. Their staff team demonstrate a solution-focused model of working, placing the child at the centre of the care they will receive. They are now looking for an Ofsted Registered Manager for a brand-new children's residential home in Stoke-on-Trent. As their Ofsted Registered Manager, you'll lead a team including a Deputy Manager and several carers to ensure the very best in house living experience for all children.

Ofsted Registered Manager – Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the service consistent with the approach and ethos of the organisation, delivering outcomes and outstanding care, as set out in the statement of purpose.

- Manage the daily operations of the service, whilst ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered to children and young people.

- Oversee a myriad of safeguarding practices and ensure a robust safeguarding culture.

- Cultivating a dynamic and supportive team environment through inspirational leadership.

- Foster a positive team culture that prioritises the needs, well-being and outcomes, of all children.

- Conduct regular supervision, appraisals, and training to support staff, whilst being a fierce advocate of continued professional development.

- Fostering strong and meaningful relationships with children, staff members, and external stakeholders.

- Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted standards, the Children's Homes Regulations, and all other relevant legislation.

Ofsted Registered Manager – Required Skills

- Level 5 Diploma in Children and Young People – Residential Childcare.

- Minimum of 2 years' experience managing a children's residential setting.

- Proven track record of effective leadership skills, encompassing the ability to motivate and inspire, those around them.

- In-depth and robust, understanding of regulatory and legal requirements of Ofsted Registered provisions, and underpinning child and social care legislation.

- Champion children's rights and a fierce advocate of improving the lives of looked after children.

- Valid UK Driver's License and access to own vehicle.

- Substantial experience of the Ofsted inspection process; and of obtaining “Good”, or “Outstanding” accreditations at key inspections.

- Experience of working with complex children who encompass learning disabilities.

- Previous experience of working within therapeutic care frameworks/models and trauma informed practice is desired.

- Knowledge of children who have Deprivation of Liberty orders, and an understanding of the processes underpinning such orders would be desirable.
