Job Title: Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care Home

Location: South East London

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week, with on-call responsibilities)

Reports to: Responsible Individual/Director

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dedicated Registered Manager to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our children’s residential care home. This role is pivotal in providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people with complex needs, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and staff performance in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strong and effective leadership to the care team, promoting a positive and inclusive culture.
• Ensure the home operates in full compliance with Ofsted standards, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
• Oversee care planning and ensure the delivery of person-centred, trauma-informed care that meets each child’s individual needs.
• Be responsible for the safeguarding and welfare of all children in the home.
• Recruit, supervise, and develop staff, ensuring appropriate training, supervision, and performance management.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, reports, and risk assessments.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including social workers, families, schools, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage the home’s budget effectively and ensure financial sustainability.
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections and respond to any regulatory recommendations.

Requirements:

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a Children’s residential setting.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection procedures, and relevant legislation.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, make informed decisions, and manage conflict.
• Willingness to be part of an on-call rota and work flexibly as required.
• Previous experience as a Registered Manager.
• Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) or other complex needs.
• Full UK Driving License.
