Job summary

Medivet is seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to help establish the day-to-day running of the clinic, uphold high standards of patient care and implement SOPs to build a practice we’re all proud of.

You’ll lead clinically, support surgeries and inpatient care, develop nurse-led clinics and preventative services, and ensure outstanding client experiences while fostering a positive, efficient team environment.

Responsibilities

As our Head Veterinary Nurse, you’ll be instrumental in establishing the day-to-day running of the clinic. From implementing high standards of patient care to implementing standard operating procedures you’ll help build the foundations for a practice we’re all proud of.

You’ll also play a hands-on clinical role by:

• Supporting with surgical procedures, diagnostics and inpatient care.

What you’ll be doing

Typically, in this role, you’ll:

• Deliver exceptional care to patients, leading nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities, supporting consults, surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
• Deliver patient monitoring and care, and manage admissions and discharges
• Deliver exceptional care to your clients
• Provide clinical leadership, inspiration and development to the nursing team
• You also will be working 36 hours per week Mon-Fri over 4 or 5 days a week
• 1in6 Weekends in our 24H hospital at Kensington (Saturday and Sunday)
• To ensure that we deliver the best care to our clients , you would be supporting our 24H hospital over Bank holidays (2 Per year )
• You will assist our dedicated night teams during periods of increased caseload(2-3 weeks of On-call duty)
• Weekend and hospital work provides valuable exposure to more complex cases while giving you the opportunity to work alongside and build relationships with colleagues across the wider region.
