Job summary

Medivet is seeking a Head Veterinary Nurse to establish day-to-day clinic operations, uphold high patient care standards, and implement SOPs. You will lead with clinical hands-on work in surgeries, diagnostics, and inpatient care, while developing nurse-led clinics and preventative services.

The role emphasizes delivering outstanding nursing care and client experiences, embedding best practices, and building an organized, welcoming practice environment.

Job description

As our Head Veterinary Nurse, you'll be instrumental in establishing the day-to-day running of the clinic. From implementing high standards of patient care to implementing standard operating procedures you'll help build the foundations for a practice we're all proud of. You'll also play a hands-on clinical role by: - Supporting with surgical procedures, diagnostics and inpatient care. - Developing and growing nurse-led consultations and preventative healthcare services. - Delivering outstanding nursing care and exceptional client experiences. - Leading by example, embedding high clinical standards and best practice. - Helping create an organised, efficient and welcoming practice environment.

What you'll be doing

Typically, in this role, you'll:

• Deliver exceptional care to patients, leading nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities, supporting consults, surgeries and procedures, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards
• Deliver patient monitoring and care, and manage admissions and discharges
• Deliver exceptional care to your clients
• Provide clinical leadership, inspiration and development to the nursing team
• You also will be working 36 hours per week Mon-Fri over 4 or 5 days a week
• 1in6 Weekends in our 24H hospital at Kensington (Saturday and Sunday)
• To ensure that we deliver the best care to our clients , you would be supporting our 24H hospital over Bank holidays (2 Per year )
• You will assist our dedicated night teams during periods of increased caseload(2-3 weeks of On-call duty)
• Weekend and hospital work provides valuable exposure to more complex cases while giving you the opportunity to work alongside and build relationships with colleagues across the wider region.
