Registered Manager – 4-Bed EBD Children’s Home

Location: Slough

Salary: Up to £70,000 depending on experience

We are looking for a Registered Manager to open and lead a brand-new 4-bed EBD home in Slough. This is a proper opportunity to shape a home from day one, setting the tone, building the team, and creating a space where young people and staff can genuinely settle and thrive.

You will have the autonomy to lead well, with strong backing from a senior team who understand residential care inside out and know how important it is to build solid foundations from the start.

The home itself will be new, but the leadership and support around you is stable, experienced and focused on therapeutic, child-first practice.

What you will be doing:

• Working with the RI and senior team to get the home registered and ready for opening
• Recruiting, training and leading a stable, relational team
• Embedding routines, culture and trauma-informed practice from day one
• Overseeing care planning, safeguarding, compliance and inspection readiness
• Managing staffing, rotas, budgets and the day-to-day running of the home
• Building strong working relationships with professionals, families and placing authorities

What we are looking for:

• Current or recent Registered Manager, or a strong Deputy ready to step up
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or working towards it)
• Solid understanding of therapeutic, child-centred practice in multi-placement homes
• Calm, steady leadership style focused on consistency, boundaries and emotional safety
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage risk and deliver good outcomes for young people
