Job summary

Brook Street is recruiting an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager in Buxton, Derbyshire, to lead a two-bed residential assessment home. You will oversee daily operations, safeguarding, and compliance with Ofsted and Quality Standards.

The role offers a salary of up to £55,000, a £3,000 car allowance, and a bonus of up to £8,500, plus 28 days leave and ongoing training. You will manage staff, develop care plans, and drive service excellence.

Qualifications

Registered Children's Home Manager

Peak Buxton, Derbyshire £48,000 - £55,000 + £3,000 Car Allowance + Bonus up to £8,500

We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a specialist two-bed children's residential assessment home in Buxton.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established provider of residential childcare services, supporting young people through a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach. The home offers immediate intervention, assessment and stabilisation, helping children develop resilience, confidence and independence within a safe and nurturing environment.

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered while maintaining full compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily operation of the home

• Manage, support and develop the staff team through supervision and performance management
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and relevant legislation

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years
• At least 12 months' experience supervising and managing care staff
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
• Previous experience supporting Ofsted inspections
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, childcare legislation and best practice
• Knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Right to work in the UK
• Must be aged 21+ due to industry regulations

Desirable

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
• Previous Registered Manager or Deputy Manager experience
• Experience within therapeutic or assessment-based services
