Evolve Staffing Ltd. is actively seeking an enthusiastic, highly skilled clinical professional to join acute paediatric inpatient ward teams across a flagship major NHS acute hospital trust based in Cheshire.Operating within one of Cheshire's primary major NHS acute hospital facilities - a significantly larger, high-acuity acute inpatient environment compared to smaller regional community services, this is a rewarding opportunity for an NMC-registered paediatric nurse to make a tangible difference in the lives of infants, children, young people, and their families. Key Responsibilities

• Care Planning: Conducting comprehensive paediatric assessments and developing bespoke, family-centred inpatient care plans.
• Medication Management: Safely calculating, administering, and auditing paediatric medications and weight-based dosages per NMC guidelines.
• MDT Collaboration: Working closely with paediatricians, paediatric surgeons, play therapists, and social workers for holistic child care.
• PEWS Escalation: Performing physiological observations and calculating Paediatric Early Warning Scores (PEWS) to elevate deteriorating child conditions.
• Clinical Skills: Executing cannulation, venepuncture, complex wound care, enteral feeding (NG/PEG), and respiratory support delivery.
• Safeguarding Governance: Applying robust child safeguarding frameworks, child protection protocols, and legal advocacy standards.
• Family Support: Acting as a reassuring point of contact for parents and guardians, offering clinical updates and emotional support.
• Clinical Leadership: Providing guidance, task delegation, and clinical supervision to Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) and student nurses.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Valid NMC PIN: Active registration as a Registered Children's Nurse (RSCN / RN Child) on the NMC register with zero restrictions.
• Clinical Competence: Strong working knowledge of acute paediatric inpatient care, PEWS escalation, child development, and safeguarding protocols.
• Hospital Experience: Minimum 6-12 months post-registration clinical experience within NHS acute paediatric wards or assessment units.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English with proven capability in updating electronic health records (EHR/EPR systems).
• Paediatric Safety: Valid certification in Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) or Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) is advantageous.
• Compliance & Vetting: Valid UK Right to Work, Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, and complete occupational health immunization clearance.
