Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a Registered Building Inspector to join a growing Building Control team. You will assess applications, carry out site inspections and provide practical advice to clients and stakeholders across Nottingham.

The role offers development opportunities and a commitment to safety and professional standards. You will work in a hybrid arrangement with on-site inspections and office attendance as required, supporting a service focused on high-quality customer service

Qualifications

• Registered Building Inspector at Class 2A level (or working towards 2A registration).
• Sound knowledge of Building Regulations and related legislation.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex matters to stakeholders.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and promoting Building Control services.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake site inspections and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assess planning applications and determine compliance with Building Regulations.
• Conduct site inspections to verify safety and compliance on projects across Nottingham.
• Provide professional, practical advice to customers and stakeholders.
• Work with Principal Surveyors and Managers to develop competencies and add value on site.
• Support the Building Control service in a growing, modern, customer-focused environment.
