Job summary

Richmond & Wandsworth Councils is seeking a Class 2 Registered Building Inspector to deliver high-quality, legally compliant Building Control across two London boroughs. You will assess applications, conduct site inspections, and provide proportionate professional advice to ensure compliance with the Building Act 1984 and related regulations.

Qualifications

• You must be aware of the Building Act and Regulations and associated legislation.
• Be able to work with minimum supervision, organising daily work programmes, including plans examination work to meet statutory deadlines.
• Pass the associated classification with BSR.

Responsibilities

• Assess building regulation applications and carry out site inspections across two boroughs.
• Provide clear, proportionate professional advice to ensure compliance with Building Act 1984 and Building Regulations.
• Identify and address non‑compliant work and support enforcement activity where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records to support audit, legal processes and transparency.
• Operate within your level of competence in line with Building Safety Regulator requirements.
