Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is recruiting a Registered Practitioner - Anaesthetics to support high‑quality peri‑operative care in a busy theatre environment. You will work within the anaesthetic team and rotate across theatres, including QEII, delivering safe peri-operative care to elective and emergency patients.

The role requires involvement in a full shift rota with evenings, nights, weekends and on-call commitments, and a strong focus on patient safety and exceptional

Qualifications

• Registered nurse or ODP with recognised anaesthetic training.
• Willing to undertake relevant post registration courses as advised by theatre team.
• ILS/ALS accreditation.
• PILS certification.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Mentorship & preceptorship training evidence.

Responsibilities

• Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedure.
• Prepare Theatre for surgery and sterile equipment; minimise waste.
• Prepare, use, decontaminate, troubleshoot and report faulty equipment.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and comfort; flexible across theatre areas.
• Work on-call and out of hours as required to provide emergency access.
