Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Registered Practitioner to support anaesthetic services across theatres. The post involves preparing theatres, assisting anaesthetists, and delivering high-quality peri-operative care within a busy environment.

The role requires flexibility to work across all theatre areas and to participate in 24/7 rotas, including evenings, nights, weekends and on-calls. A supportive team and commitment to trust values are central.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or ODP with anaesthetic training and experience.
• ILS/ALS/PILS certifications completed or in scope.
• Continued professional development evidence expected.
• Evidence of mentorship or preceptorship training.
• Willingness to undertake post-registration courses as advised by Theatre Team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, transfer and position patients for procedures.
• Prepare the theatre for surgery and sterile equipment; minimize waste.
• Prepare, use, decontaminate and troubleshoot equipment; report faults.
• Work across theatre areas; participate in on-call/out-of-hours when needed.
• Support peri-operative care and collaborate with anaesthetist and wider theatre team.
