Job description

Join us, be part of more. We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About the Role

We're looking for a Regional Workplace Experience & Performance Lead to support our South West England & Wales region. This is a highly visible role responsible for ensuring our workplaces enable colleagues to do their best work. You'll drive workplace performance, colleague experience and behavioural adoption across a portfolio of locations, ensuring our workplaces are safe, effective, inclusive and aligned to Centrica's Workplace Strategy. The role has a particular focus on our flagship workplaces in Cardiff and Reading, which act as the primary workplace hubs for the region. Through regular engagement with colleagues, leaders and workplace partners, you'll help create environments that support collaboration, learning, decision‑making and connection. You'll work at the intersection of workplace strategy, colleague experience and operational delivery, translating insight into action and helping leaders maximise the value of our workplaces. This role combines strategic thinking, stakeholder influence and hands‑on delivery, making it ideal for someone passionate about creating environments where people and teams can thrive.

Location Frequent presence expected in Cardiff and Reading, the region's primary workplace locations, to build relationships, understand colleague needs and support workplace performance outcomes. Regular travel across South West England and Wales to support colleagues, stakeholders and workplace activity across the region. Occasional national travel to work alongside the wider Workplace team, attend team events, leadership sessions, workplace openings and key business activities. Hybrid working with flexibility to work remotely when not travelling or attending workplace locations.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Workplace Performance & Experience Own workplace performance outcomes across the South West England & Wales region, driving utilisation, colleague experience and behavioural adoption. Ensure workplaces are used effectively and as intended for collaboration, learning, decision‑making and connection. Monitor workplace performance data, identifying trends, risks and opportunities and implementing targeted interventions to improve outcomes. Drive continuous improvement in colleague experience by identifying friction points and opportunities across the workplace journey. Deliver value‑for‑money improvements and develop business cases where investment or change is required.
  • Leadership & Influence Partner with business leaders and managers to embed effective workplace behaviours, activity‑based working and successful hybrid working practices. Influence workplace outcomes by proactively addressing under‑utilisation, misuse or behaviours that do not align with workplace, safety or security standards. Provide insight‑led recommendations to improve workplace effectiveness, productivity and colleague experience. Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, helping teams maximise the value of workplace environments.
  • Regional Integration & Governance Act as the regional integrator across Workplace, Facilities Management, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Security and business leadership teams. Ensure consistent workplace standards are maintained across all locations within the region. Support governance processes by providing data, insight, recommendations and assurance on workplace performance. Enable safe, secure and highly effective workplace environments for colleagues and visitors. Escalate risks and opportunities where intervention is required to improve workplace effectiveness and colleague outcomes.
  • Community & Inclusion Foster an inclusive workplace experience that supports wellbeing, accessibility and belonging. Partner with Trade Unions, colleague networks, charity partners and local stakeholders to deliver key moments that matter for colleagues and communities. Support colleague engagement, readiness and adoption of workplace initiatives, changes and improvements.
Key Relationships
  • Regional and senior business leaders.
  • Local site leadership teams.
  • Workplace leadership and programme delivery teams.
  • Facilities Management partners and service providers.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience improving colleague, customer or workplace experiences through insight‑led interventions.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive behavioural change without direct authority.
