Job summary

National Grid is seeking a Communications Engineer to install, commission and maintain Telecoms & SCADA networks across the East Midlands. You will work with the NMC, Design and Commercial teams to deliver a secure, reliable solution, with standby duties and a flexible schedule.

You will oversee regional telecoms tasks, coordinate with contractors, witness tests, and ensure continuous service. Strong communication and a resilient, organised approach are essential for success in a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• Experience in telecoms networks and SCADA systems.
• Ability to coordinate with contractors and witness tests.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate and maintain Telecoms & SCADA networks in the designated region.
• Witness acceptance tests with contractors when required.
• Manage your own working time to meet objectives and projects.
• Work with colleagues and customers to ensure continuity of service.
• Follow safety procedures and use approved techniques.
• Provide technical support to customers and liaise with colleagues to resolve issues.
