Are you an experienced care home leader with a track record of turning services around and supporting teams through change?

Leaders in Care is recruiting a Regional Support Manager on behalf of a forward-thinking care provider with a strong commitment to its homes and substantial, planned investment in their future.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple care homes, providing hands‑on leadership during management vacancies, service improvement programmes and operational transitions. You’ll help stabilise services, strengthen leadership teams and deliver sustainable improvements for residents, colleagues and families.

The opportunity

Working closely with Regional Directors and central support teams, you’ll take operational accountability for allocated homes, balancing safe, person‑centred care with strong workforce and commercial performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing operational leadership to homes requiring additional support, including those undergoing regulatory intervention or organisational change.
  • Assessing priorities quickly and implementing structured, measurable improvement plans.
  • Driving improvements in care quality, compliance, staffing and operational performance.
  • Coaching and mentoring Home Managers and leadership teams to build lasting capability.
  • Overseeing safeguarding, responding to incidents and ensuring resident wellbeing remains central to every decision.
  • Supporting homes through inspections and regulatory improvement activity.
  • Managing budgets, supporting occupancy growth and strengthening financial performance.
  • Building effective relationships with residents, families, commissioners and other external professionals.
  • Providing substantive management cover and registering as Home Manager with the relevant regulator where required.
  • Contributing to regional improvement projects and wider organisational change programmes.
About you

You’ll be an experienced Home Manager or senior operational leader within adult social care, with demonstrable success in service improvement, turnaround or leadership transition.

You’ll bring sound judgement, commercial awareness and a firm commitment to high‑quality care. Resilient and adaptable, you’ll be comfortable stepping into challenging environments, identifying what needs to change and bringing teams with you.

Essential requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a current NMC PIN for nursing homes, or an NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
  • Registered Manager Award, Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to achieve.
  • Significant care home management or senior operational leadership experience.
  • Proven experience delivering improvements during periods of change or transition.
  • Strong knowledge of CQC, Care Inspectorate and/or CIW requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and people management skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, occupancy and commercial performance.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
  • Effective communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel extensively across England, Scotland and Wales.
Desirable experience
  • Supporting multiple care homes or working in a regional operational role.
  • Leading services through inspections and regulatory improvement programmes.
  • Project management and change management.
  • Mentoring Home Managers and senior leaders.
  • Contributing to wider organisational improvement initiatives.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
Why consider this role?

You’ll join a provider investing in the long‑term success of its homes, with the resources and stability to support sustainable improvement. This varied role offers the opportunity to use your leadership expertise where it matters most, leaving services stronger and helping teams deliver better care.
