Job summary

Rain for Rent International is seeking a highly motivated Sales Engineer to strengthen our Northern UK team (Carlisle, Newcastle upon Tyne, Edinburgh, Glasgow and surrounding areas). The role blends technical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver liquid storage, pumping and filtration solutions across multiple industries.

You will maintain and develop customer relationships, promote solutions across water treatment, petrochemical, construction and environmental sectors, support marketing

Qualifications

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Engineering, or a technical related field.
• Proven experience in the pump industry and/or industrial cleaning sector.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to build long-term customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with new and existing customers.
• Promote solutions across industries such as water treatment, petrochemical production, refining, construction and environmental remediation.
• Analyse and communicate market trends, opportunities and risks to management, including actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with operations and internal teams to exceed customer expectations.
• Provide inside sales support and actively support the promotion of safety-related products.
• Plan and execute marketing activities, including online campaigns, social media and editorial content.
• Prepare presentations, reports and internal communications.
• Support and participate in trade shows, exhibitions and industry conferences from planning through execution.
• Oversee the local depot, including material checks, quality assurance and status monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with statutory Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents and operational activities.
• Support additional day-to-day business activities as required.
