Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Regional Pump Engineer based at our depot in Bury St Edmunds to service and repair pumps, hoses and generators. You will attend breakdowns at customer sites and ensure equipment is serviced and maintained to high standards.

The role requires proven pump engineer or diesel technician experience, a valid driving licence, and a customer-focused, detail-oriented approach. Training is provided where needed and opportunities for progression exist within GAP Group.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators is highly desirable.
• Experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Customer-focused approach to workload and committed team player.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain GAP fleet equipment at the depot and on customer sites.
• Attend breakdowns across customer sites.
• Identify and repair faults or damage to pumps, hoses and generators.
• Accurately update service records.

Job description

GAP Pump Services provide advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for dewatering and sewerage pump applications including a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions. As a Regional Pump Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the success of the region by ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it through the efficient servicing and maintaining a variety of pump services equipment within the GAP fleet. You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our equipment in the depot but also responsible for attending breakdowns across our customer sites. You will identify and repair any faults or damage to equipment including pumps, hoses and generators, whilst accurately updating service records.

• Position will be based out of our depot in Bury St Edmunds and therefore candidates should be suitably located.
• Proven experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician.
• Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators is highly desirable but training will be provided.
• Experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Customer-focused approach to workload and committed team player.
• A valid driving licence is essential.
