Job summary

GAP Group in Tilbury is seeking a Regional Pump Engineer to ensure our customers can hire what they want, when they need it, by servicing and maintaining a range of pumps, hoses and related equipment.

You will repair equipment at the depot and attend breakdowns on customer sites, update records, and contribute to a responsive, customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators; training provided.
• Experience in plant or hire industry beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail; able to work under pressure.
• Customer-focused and team player.
• A valid driving licence is required.

GAP Pump Services provide advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for dewatering and sewerage pump applications including a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions.

As a Regional Pump Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the success of the region by ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it through the efficient servicing and maintaining a variety of pump services equipment within the GAP fleet.

You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our equipment in the depot but also responsible for attending breakdowns across our customer sites. You will identify and repair any faults or damage to equipment including pumps, hoses and generators, whilst accurately updating service records.

Please note, the position will be based out of our depot in Tilbury and therefore candidates should be suitably located.

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

• Proven experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician
• Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators is highly desirable but training will be provided.
• Experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
• A customer-focussed approach workload and committed team player
• A valid driving licence is
