Job summary

GAP Pump Services, part of GAP Group Limited, currently seeks a Regional Pump Engineer to join our specialist team in Scotland. You will service, repair and maintain dewatering and sewerage pump equipment, travel to customer sites across the region and keep accurate service records.

A depot-based role in Elgin means you should live within reasonable distance to work across multiple sites. Ideal candidates have proven experience as a pump engineer or mechanical fitter, knowledge of diesel

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a pump engineer or mechanical fitter.
• Experience in plant or hire industry is beneficial.
• Sound knowledge of diesel engines, pumps or generators is desirable, training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to identify and repair faults or damage to pumps, hoses and generators.
• Maintain and service pump equipment and update service records accurately.
• Work as part of a regional team with a focus on reliable customer service from depot in Elgin.

GAP Pump Services provide advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for dewatering and sewerage pump applications including a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions.

As a Regional Pump Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the success of the region by ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it through the efficient servicing and maintaining a variety of pump services equipment within the GAP fleet.

As part of our high-performing regional team, you will be responsible for traveling across our customer sites to identify and repair any faults or damage to equipment including pumps, hoses and generators, whilst accurately updating service records.

Please note, the position will be based out of our depot in Elgin and therefore candidates should be suitably located.

About You

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

• Proven experience as a pump engineer/mechanical fitter or similar role
• Ideally have experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial
• Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators is highly desirable but training will be provided.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
• A customer-focussed approach workload and committed team player
• A valid driving licence is essential.
