Job summary

GAP Group is seeking a Regional Pump Engineer based at our Carnforth depot to service and maintain a wide range of pump equipment, hoses and generators for customer sites and our GAP fleet.

You will repair items at the depot and respond to breakdowns on-site, ensuring equipment is ready when customers need it. A practical skillset, a valid driving licence and a dedication to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators; training provided.
• Experience in the plant or hire industry would be beneficial.
• Attention to detail and accuracy; able to work under pressure.
• Customer-focused and a committed team player.
• Valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain equipment in the depot.
• Attend breakdowns across customer sites and diagnose faults.
• Identify and repair faults or damage to pumps, hoses and generators.
• Accurately update service records.

GAP Pump Services provide advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for dewatering and sewerage pump applications including a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions.

As a Regional Pump Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the success of the region by ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it through the efficient servicing and maintaining a variety of pump services equipment within the GAP fleet.

You will be responsible for repairing and maintaining our equipment in the depot but also responsible for attending breakdowns across our customer sites. You will identify and repair any faults or damage to equipment including pumps, hoses and generators, whilst accurately updating service records.

**Please note, the position will be based out of our depot in Carnforth and therefore candidates should be suitably located.**

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

• Proven experience as a pump engineer, mechanical fitter or diesel technician
• Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators is highly desirable but training will be provided.
• Experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
• A customer-focussed approach workload and committed team player
• A valid driving licence is
