Job summary

GAP Group Limited is seeking a Regional Pump Engineer to service and repair pump equipment across customer sites, ensuring timely availability of hire equipment from the GAP fleet. You will travel within the region and work from our Bournemouth depot.

The role requires proven pump engineering or mechanical fitting experience, knowledge of diesel engines and pumps, and a valid driving licence. Training is provided, and a strong customer-focused, detail-minded approach is essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pump engineer or mechanical fitter.
  • Experience in plant or hire industry beneficial but not essential.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators; training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work under pressure.
  • Customer-focused and a committed team player.
  • Valid driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Travel across customer sites to service and repair pump equipment.
  • Identify and repair faults; update service records.
  • Based at the Bournemouth depot and travel within the region as required.

GAP Pump Services provide advice, servicing, maintenance and repair for dewatering and sewerage pump applications including a large range of hoses, settlement tanks and water processing solutions.

Responsibilities

As a Regional Pump Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the success of the region by ensuring that our customers can hire what they want, when they need it through the efficient servicing and maintaining a variety of pump services equipment within the GAP fleet.

As part of our high-performing regional team, you will be responsible for traveling across our customer sites to identify and repair any faults or damage to equipment including pumps, hoses and generators, whilst accurately updating service records.

Please note, the position will be based out of our depot in Bournemouth and therefore candidates should be suitably located.

About You

Successful applicants should demonstrate the following:

  • Proven experience as a pump engineer/mechanical fitter or similar role
  • Ideally have experience within the plant or hire industry would be highly beneficial however this is not essential
  • Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines, pumps, hoses or generators is highly desirable but training will be provided.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • A customer-focused approach workload and committed team player
  • A valid driving licence is essential.
