Job summary

Select Recruitment Specialists Ltd is recruiting an Operations Manager for a regional external site services business. The role focuses on planning, coordinating and managing a network of subcontractors remotely to ensure client sites are covered, safe and serviced on time.

You’ll lead contractor relationships, scope and deliver reactive works, and ensure compliance. A two-day-a-week office presence in Suffolk is required, with potential longer hours during peak periods and an on-call setup.

Qualifications

• Solid experience managing subcontractors, third-party providers or field teams, ideally remotely across a wide geographic area.
• Strong planning and organisational skills to schedule resources across sites.
• Confident with clients and able to resolve problems commercially.
• Self-starter with natural leadership to give direction to people not directly employed.
• Comfortable working from home with accountability and willingness to commute to the Suffolk office two days a week.
• Willingness to work longer hours during peak season and occasional on-call availability.
• Must have a full, clean UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a regional network of subcontractors and delivery partners and match them to sites.
• Coordinate real-time deployment across the area when conditions change.
• Scope, quote and organise reactive external works through the partner network.
• Check contractor compliance, including insurances, vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct regular site visits for risk assessments, quality checks and client meetings.
