Job summary

Excelcare seeks a Maintenance Operative for our Saffron Walden location. You will be a general all-rounder with a can-do attitude, supporting 11 homes in the Essex region and delivering a positive customer experience.

You should have hands-on maintenance, painting, decorating or gardening experience, own basic tools, a full UK driving licence with your own vehicle, and DBS clearance. Mileage paid for regional travel.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in handy person/maintenance roles.
• Own basic tools; materials provided by the employer.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle; mileage paid.

Responsibilities

• Maintain premises and grounds to a high standard for residents.
• Carry out routine checks and inspections; report issues (e.g. LOler testing).
• Adhere to health, safety and fire policies; ensure compliance.
• Support induction of new staff and assist Home Manager as needed.
• Handle stock ordering and work with maintenance team on projects.
