Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Regional Bank Chef to support our culinary teams across the Midlands. You will lead a busy kitchen, plan nutritionally balanced menus and oversee cost-effective meal provision that enhances residents’ well‑being.

Travelling between homes, you’ll supervise staff, place orders with approved suppliers, and ensure high hygiene standards. A DBS check and proof of eligibility to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a busy kitchen with at least 5 years of culinary work.
• Knowledge of health and safety and current food safety legislation (COSHH and maintaining 5-star hygiene).
• NVQ3 in Food Production or City & Guilds catering qualifications, or IDDSI training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced menus for Home Manager approval.
• Place orders with approved suppliers within budget limits.
• Supervise kitchen and Host teams; train unqualified staff.
• Ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene.
