Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Regional Bank Chef to support our Midlands region across multiple care home sites. You will oversee daily kitchen operations, lead a culinary team, plan nutritionally balanced menus, manage purchasing within budget, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

The role involves travel to different homes across the Midlands, with a focus on delivering quality meals while maintaining cost controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a busy kitchen and leading culinary staff.
• Minimum of 5 years' culinary experience.
• Knowledge of health and safety and current food safety legislation (COSHH).
• NVQ 3 in Food Production or equivalent; City & Guilds 706-1/706-2 catering qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced menu plans for approval by the Home Manager.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers within budget.
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff and train unqualified staff.
• Demonstrate safe food handling per the company’s hygiene standards.
