Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group is seeking a Regional Bank Chef to support daily operations of the culinary department across the Midlands. You will lead a kitchen team to provide nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals while monitoring budget and food safety. This role involves travel to multiple homes.

The ideal candidate has substantial kitchen management experience, strong health and safety knowledge, and leadership abilities. DBS check and UK eligibility are required as part of joining Avery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in managing a busy kitchen.
• Knowledge of health and safety, COSHH, and 5-star hygiene standards.
• NVQ 3 in Food Production or equivalent / City & Guilds catering qualifications; IDDSI training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced menu plans for approval by the Home Manager, considering dietary needs and keeping records.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers within budget and stock control procedures.
• Supervise and direct kitchen staff and Host team; train unqualified staff as needed.
• Apply Avery Food Safety Management system and maintain highest hygiene standards in kitchen activities.
