Job summary

Ground Control is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to own a broad portfolio across Reading and surrounding areas. You will lead multiple field teams, drive performance, and ensure exceptional service while upholding safety and contractual standards.

In this role you will manage client relationships, identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with regional leaders to shape region-wide success. A fast-paced environment and ownership mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing grounds maintenance contracts across multiple sites.
• Experience leading operational teams and holding suppliers/subcontractors to account.
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience turning around underperforming contracts and driving improvements.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Commercial awareness including budgets, quotations and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of grounds maintenance across a large and varied portfolio, ensuring sites meet high standards and contractual obligations.
• Develop and strengthen client relationships, acting as the main point of contact and driving service delivery improvements.
• Manage field teams and hold them accountable for performance and resource use.
• Drive operational excellence across 300+ sites, prioritising workloads and ensuring service levels.
• Take ownership of contract performance and implement improvement plans for measurable results.
• Balance site visits, customer requirements, reactive issues and day-to-day administration.
• Identify opportunities for additional works and contract growth with customers.
• Collaborate with Regional Operations Directors, Contract Managers and HSQE teams to deliver safe, efficient contracts.
