Job summary

GAP Group Limited is recruiting a Regional Generator Engineer to ensure the availability and reliability of generator equipment for customers across the region. The role entails servicing and maintaining a range of power services and equipment up to 500 kVA within the GAP fleet, with work based from the Durham depot and regular site visits.

Applicants should have proven diesel generator experience, current knowledge of diesel engines and generators, and a customer-focused approach.

• Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines and generators is highly desirable.
• Customer-focused with good workload management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Based out of the Durham depot with regular travel to customer sites to identify and repair faults or damage to equipment.
• Maintain and service generators up to 500 kVA and associated panels and cabling.
• Accurately update service records and contribute to safety and quality standards.

Job description

As a Regional Generator Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the success of the region by ensuring that customers can hire the equipment they need, when they need it. This includes the efficient servicing and maintenance of a variety of power services and equipment up to 500 kVA within the GAP fleet.

About the role

Based out of our Durham depot, the role requires regular travel across customer sites to identify and repair faults or damage to equipment such as Stage V Generators, AMF/MDU panels, distribution and cable systems. You will also be responsible for accurately updating service records.

About You

• Proven experience within a diesel generator engineer role is essential.
• Sound and current knowledge of diesel engines and generators is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• A customer‑focused approach, strong workload management and a commitment to teamwork.
• A valid driving licence would be preferable but is not essential.
