Job summary

SUEZ in Luton is seeking an experienced Area Workshop Manager to oversee the Luton fleet workshop and external service providers across the area. You will ensure heavy goods and commercial vehicles stay compliant, reliable, and available to support operations.

You will lead workshop teams, manage budgets, and compile monthly reports while promoting best practices and maintaining high health and safety standards. Strong leadership and fleet knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Higher National Certificate (HNC) approved apprenticeship in vehicle engineering or equivalent.
• Health and safety qualification, IOSH or higher.
• Management qualification.
• Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) road haulage operations.
• Familiarity with DVSA guide to roadworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of fleet assets across multiple sites, ensuring compliant vehicles for operations.
• Manage workshop resources and budgetary targets; uphold health and safety for all staff.
• Compile monthly workshop activity reports and handle employee matters.
• Promote best practice and ensure adherence to SUEZ UK procedures across the remit.
• Lead multi-site maintenance facilities with a focus on reliability and availability.
