Job summary

ALECTO RECRUITMENT LTD in Tewkesbury is seeking a Workshop Manager to lead a high-output commercial workshop for a fleet of around 100 vehicles. You will own day-to-day performance, safety and results, coordinating technicians and ensuring uptime.

The role requires strong leadership, KPI reporting, and a hands-on approach to process improvements, team development, and supplier negotiations. A UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Fleet Control: Stay ahead of defects, downtime and daily operational demands.
• Work Allocation: Prioritise jobs, direct the foreman and keep technicians productive.
• Supplier Negotiation: Secure the right parts at the right price.
• Compliance Management: Own regulatory standards, audits and safety culture.
• Process Improvement: Build and enforce systems for high workshop standards.
• Team Development: Coach technicians and apprentices to foster teamwork.
• Performance Reporting: Deliver clear reports to senior leadership and hit KPIs.
• Operational Oversight: Ensure all vehicles are maintained and ready for work.
