Job summary

NHS England invites applications for a strategic Endoscopy Lead/Clinical Director within the South West Endoscopy Training Academy (SWETA). The post oversees clinical leadership, training delivery, and workforce development across the region, aligned to national standards and regional needs.

The role focuses on strategic leadership, governance, stakeholder engagement, and expansion of training sites, with a flexible distribution across consultants and areas of focus based on skills and interests.

Qualifications

• GMC registration with licence to practise is essential.
• Inclusion on the specialist register is expected within 6 months of CCT.
• Substantial experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy relevant to your specialty.
• TTT and TCT accreditation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for SWETA and shape strategic direction.
• Ensure training aligns with national standards and regional priorities.
• Lead on clinical governance, quality assurance, and safety across training sites.
• Build and maintain relationships with Trusts, training centres, and professional bodies.
