Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Regional Bank Chef to support the culinary department across the Kent area, ensuring nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals while managing a team and staying within budget.

The role requires at least 5 years in busy kitchens, knowledge of health and safety and food safety legislation, and NVQ3 or City & Guilds qualifications; travel between homes is involved, with DBS check and UK eligibility verification.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a busy kitchen and leading a team.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and food safety legislation.
• NVQ 3 in Food Production or equivalent qualifications (City & Guilds 706-1/706-2 / IDDSI).

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritionally balanced menu plans for approval by Home Manager.
• Record dietary needs and maintain inspection-ready records.
• Place orders with approved suppliers within budget and stock controls.
• Supervise kitchen and Host team; train unqualified staff in basic food prep.
• Demonstrate safe food handling and hygiene per Avery standards.
