Job summary

North Yorkshire Council is seeking a committed Driver in Skipton, North Yorkshire, for full-time duties within the Highways sector. The role focuses on safe and efficient refuse and recycling collection, under the guidance of the driver and within PPE protocols.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe working practices and general Health and Safety principles.
• Effective interpersonal, communication skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weathers and walk long distances.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety guidelines and wear PPE.
• Work with the driver during the daily route and tasks.
• Assist with dynamic risk assessments and act as Reversing Assistant to ensure safe manoeuvres.
• Complete daily tasks, including round coverage during leaves or absences, coordinating with team members.
• Communicate effectively with customers and management about service delivery and any issues.
• Support cleaning, litter removal, and public realm duties as required by the service.
