Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE

The Refurbishment & Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all outfitting projects for a full class of MSC vessels.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Identify needs for outfitting works to maintain the vessels' condition.
• Visit shipyard sites or vessels for inspections of ship interiors.
• Lead, track, and oversee outfitting projects for the vessels.
• Supervise to ensure goals, quality, standards, budgets, and timelines are met.
• Review mock-ups and conduct first-of-production inspections of public spaces and guest staterooms (excluding technical areas).
• Coordinate modifications with operation departments, designers, and architects.
• Report on progress, focusing on schedules, milestones, costs, and quality.
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues promptly.
• Create and deliver presentations at the executive level.
• Maintain good relations with internal stakeholders, shipyard management, and contractors.
• Follow up on repairs within the contractual guarantee period.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Fluent in English; knowledge of French or Italian is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural or Naval Architectural fields preferred but not essential.
• Minimum 3 years experience as Refurbishment Supervisor or Site Manager.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD/MicroStation, Rhino.
• Knowledge of SOLAS and IMO regulations.
• Ability to interpret detailed design and technical drawings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across diverse cultures.
• Hands-on management style; self-motivated with resource mobilization skills.
• Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects under tight schedules and high stress.
