Job summary

Speedy Hire Plc is hiring a Refurb Engineer in Tamworth. You will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, testing and inspecting light plant and power equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with manufacturer specifications.

The role is based in the Tamworth depot with a Monday–Friday, 40-hour week. Training and progression opportunities are provided, along with a range of benefits and flexible working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Must have mechanical engineering experience, ideally in hire industry or similar field.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.
• Commercially aware and able to prioritise and organise work.
• Support ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.

Responsibilities

• Repair, maintenance, testing and inspection of hire fleet equipment, predominantly light plant and power equipment.
• Ensure all work complies with Speedy safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Based in Tamworth depot; coordinate with regional depots and workshops.
• Support the ESG strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.

Refurb Engineer - Tamworth

Monday to Friday - 40 Hours - 07:30 to 17:00

Based in the depot in Tamworth,We are looking to recruit aRefurb Engineer. The overall purposeof this role is to provide overall responsibility for the repair, maintenance, testing and inspection of hire fleet equipment, predominantly light plant and power equipment that is either on hire/on-site/at depots or returned to workshops by depots in the region, ensuring that all work undertaken is safe and complies with Speedy safety standards and is in line with manufactures specifications.

• Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential, ideally gained within the hire industry or other engineering field
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
• Commercially aware
• Able to understand the priorities, plan and organise the work and manage own time to deliver within the expected timescales
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver.
