Job summary

Refuge in Lewisham is seeking a Refuge Worker to support women and children who have experienced domestic abuse at our Lewisham-based refuge. You will provide practical and emotional support, perform risk and needs assessments, and help develop tailored support plans.

Based at Athena Lewisham, this 37.5-hour role offers a stable full-time, permanent contract with ongoing training, supervision, and a benefits package. Closing date is 9.00am on 27 October 2026, with interviews on 7 November 2026.

• Compassionate, resilient and proactive individual with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to women and children.
• Carry out risk and needs assessments.
• Develop and implement support plans.
• Work with partner agencies to help women access housing, benefits and legal advice.
