Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Driver for our Stoke-on-Trent operation. The role involves collecting and delivering customer samples in a refrigerated van, following schedules, and interacting with customers at sites. You will ensure samples are transported safely and in compliance with temperature controls while upholding Intertek’s values.

This is a customer-facing, field-based position requiring independent work, strong driving experience, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in van driving and working directly with customers.
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
• Experience of high-mileage/low-volume driving is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks and geography.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Ability to undertake occasional heavy lifting.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver customer samples using a refrigerated van.
• Follow planned routes and collection schedules.
• Provide professional customer interaction at collection sites.
• Complete collection and delivery documentation accurately.
• Adhere to temperature control procedures and requirements.
• Report temperature variances and vehicle issues promptly.
• Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Drive safely and legally at all times.
• Represent Intertek professionally and uphold company values.
• Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
