Job summary

Intertek is seeking a Driver for our Stoke-on-Trent operation. The role involves collecting and delivering customer samples in a refrigerated van, following schedules, and interacting with customers at sites. You will ensure samples are transported safely and in compliance with temperature controls while upholding Intertek’s values.

This is a customer-facing, field-based position requiring independent work, strong driving experience, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in van driving and working directly with customers.
• Valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
• Experience of high-mileage/low-volume driving is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks and geography.

Due to continued growth within our Food Services business, we are looking for a Driver to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a customer-facing role that plays a vital part in our laboratory operation, ensuring customer samples are collected and delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

ABOUT YOU

You will be a reliable, professional and customer-focused individual with experience in van driving and working directly with customers. You will be comfortable working independently, managing your own schedule and representing Intertek positively at customer sites.

You will take pride in delivering excellent service, maintaining high standards of compliance and ensuring samples are transported safely in line with temperature control requirements.

Required skills and experience:

• Valid UK driving licence with a maximum of 6 penalty points.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in van driving and customer-facing roles.
• Experience of high-mileage/low-volume driving.
• Strong knowledge of UK road networks and geography.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• Ability to undertake occasional heavy lifting.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring customer samples are collected and transported in accordance with agreed schedules, quality standards and temperature-controlled requirements.

You will act as a front-line representative for Intertek, building positive relationships with customers while ensuring safe and compliant transportation of samples.
