Job summary

St John Payne Catholic School in Chelmsford is inviting applications for a Reflection Room Manager to support students in independent study and aid their return to lessons. The role is term-time only plus 5 INSET days, working 37 hours per week.

The successful candidate will maintain a respectful learning environment, build positive relationships with students, liaise with Heads of Department and teachers, and assist with incident investigations and detentions as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a purposeful, supportive environment to ensure students supervised in independent study engage with their learning.
• Forging positive relations with students that support guidance and mentoring to encourage reflection and positive behaviour.
• Liaising with Heads of Department and teachers to ensure provision of work, facilitating its return for marking & feedback.
• Liaison with the school's Pastoral Lead, senior leaders, Heads of Year and the pastoral team.
• Assisting investigation of incidents.
• Managing detention registers and helping to ensure students attend.
