Job summary

Morrisons is seeking a Transport Planner for our Falfish site. You will report to the Planning Manager and create driver schedules within the overall transport plan, ensuring timely deliveries and collections.

You will analyse plans against actual schedules, drive improvements, and ensure compliance with working time regulations and policies. A strong influencer capable of impactful interventions is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in producing driver schedules and transport plans.
• Experience in large transport operations.
• Knowledge of Paragon planning software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure deliveries and collections align with planned requirements.
• Provide problem solving guidance on operational issues and policy compliance.
• Plan and manage resources for cost-effective delivery service.
• Produce driver schedules within the overall plan.
• Analyse plans vs actual schedules to identify improvements.

• Complete records and reports; flag inaccuracies or complaints.
• Identify opportunities for improved operational efficiencies.
• Organise shunters and ensure vehicles and trailers are available when needed.

Job description

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Planner to join the Transport Team at our Falfish manufacturing site.Reporting to the Planning Manager you will be responsible for producing individual Driver schedules that will implement the overall Transport plan for the Falfish operation.

Our Transport Planners do the following:

• Ensure all deliveries and collections are in line with planned requirements.
• Provide problem solving guidance on any operational issues such as late changes to plans and compliance with policies and procedures
• Plan and manage resources to deliver a cost effective delivery service.
• Produce individual plans for particular drivers within an overall plan.
• Analyse the plan against actual schedules to understand areas of improvement.
• Maintain compliance and conformance for safe working practices and working time regulations.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed at all times.
• Ensure the completion of all associated records and reports and highlight any inaccuracies, issues or complaints
• Proactively identify opportunities for improved operational efficiencies
• Organising shunters and ensuring that vehicles and trailers are available when needed.

To be successful you should have excellent communication and analytical skills and experience of producing reports. Experience of planning a large and successful transport operation along with an understanding of planning system Paragon would be advantageous.
