Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking a Recycling Operative to join a fast-paced site environment. The role involves working across departments with weekend shifts, and two weekdays off.

You will help ensure materials are processed safely and efficiently on the sorting belt, with tasks across cleaning and basic maintenance. We value a health & safety aware team player who can adapt quickly, handle manual tasks, and support different departments as workload requires.

Qualifications

• Health and safety conscious with awareness of site rules.
• Reliable team player with a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable with manual handling and standing for long periods.
• Able to work in a fast-moving environment.
• Previous recycling or warehouse experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Sort on the belt to separate recyclables.
• Carry out general cleaning around machinery and work areas.
• Assist with basic maintenance and report faults.
• Support other departments as workload requires.
• Follow all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe site.
• Ensure materials are handled and processed correctly.
• Work as part of a team to meet daily targets.

The Best Connection are actively seeking a Recycling Operative, who is looking to progress, is flexible working in various departments, and can work both Saturday and Sunday weekly (with two flexible week days off)...

This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role working across various departments on site. You'll play a key part in supporting the recycling operation and ensuring materials are processed safely and efficiently.

Previous experience in a similar working environment would be advantageous...

Shifts / pay rates :

• Monday to Friday: £13.17 per hour
• Saturday: £19.75 per hour
• Sunday: £26.34 per hour

Roles and responsibilities:

• Working on the sorting belt to separate recyclable materials
• Carrying out general cleaning duties, including cleaning down machinery and work areas
• Assisting with the basic maintenance and upkeep of machinery (e.g., clearing blockages, reporting faults)
• Supporting different departments as required depending on workload
• Following all health & safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Ensuring materials are handled and processed correctly
• Working as part of a team to meet daily production targets
