Job summary

People Solutions are recruiting for Recycling Operatives to join our client based in Newbridge, City of Edinburgh. This is a hands-on role in a busy recycling facility and the environment can be demanding, so applicants should be prepared for hard graft and PPE use.

Shifts are Monday to Friday, 6.00am–4.00pm, with weekly pay and potential for permanent progression for the right candidate. You will work on a picking line, identify and remove items, sort materials, maintain a clean and safe area,

Qualifications

• Physically fit and able to stand on a picking line for long periods.
• Able to work in a busy recycling environment.
• Willing to perform repetitive, hands-on tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Able to follow health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work on a recycling picking line.
• Identify and remove items from the line.
• Sort and separate materials as required.
• Work continuously on the picking line throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area.
• Follow site Health & Safety procedures.
• Wear all required PPE correctly.
• Support the wider recycling operation as required.

Recycling Operative, City of Edinburgh

People Solutions are currently recruiting for Recycling Operatives to join our well-established client based in Newbridge, City of Edinburgh.

This is a hands-on role working within a busy recycling facility. The work can be physically demanding and the environment isn't always the cleanest, so we're looking for people who are comfortable getting stuck in and aren't afraid of a bit of hard graft.

This is a fantastic opportunity for reliable candidates looking for an ongoing role, with the potential to become permanent for the right person.

This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a Waste Recycling Operative, Sorting Operative (Recycling) or Recycling Facility Operative.

Candidates must be clean shaven to allow the required respiratory protection to be worn correctly.

Candidates who are not clean shaven will be required to wear an air-fed respiratory protection mask in line with site requirements.

Candidates must provide their own safety footwear.

People Solutions will provide high-visibility clothing, while the client will provide hard hats, masks and safety glasses.

Monday to Friday - 6.00am - 4.00pm

Rates of Pay

£13.07 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Recycling Operative, your duties will include:

• Working on a recycling picking line
• Identifying and removing items from the line before materials move through the recycling process
• Sorting and separating materials as required
• Working continuously on a picking line throughout the shift
• Maintaining a clean and safe working area
• Following site Health & Safety procedures
• Wearing all required PPE correctly
• Supporting the wider recycling operation as required

Essential Skills

The skills required as a Recycling Operative are:

• Physically fit and comfortable standing and working on a picking line for extended periods
• Happy working in a busy recycling environment
• Comfortable with hands-on and repetitive work
• Reliable, punctual and hardworkingPositive attitude and willingness to get stuck in
• Able to follow Health & Safety procedures and PPE requirements

Training

• Full site assessment and training will be provided, including instruction on the safe use of all required PPE and site procedures.
