Connect Appointments is seeking a Recycling Operative to join their established waste management and recycling business in Blantyre. This temporary position offers the chance for permanent employment and requires a reliable and physically capable individual.

The role involves sorting and processing recyclable materials, maintaining cleanliness, and operating necessary equipment. Competitive pay of £13.90 per hour is offered, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 6am to 4pm.

Qualifications

• Ability to sort and separate waste materials on a process line.
• Experience in a factory, processing or recycling environment is advantageous.
• Possession of a full UK driving licence is advantageous.

Connect Appointments is recruiting a Recycling Operative to join an established waste management and recycling business based in Blantyre.

Our client operates a busy recycling facility, requiring a reliable and physically capable individual to support the day‑to‑day sorting and processing of recyclable materials.

What’s on offer?

• Temporary position with the opportunity for permanent employment
• Monday to Friday, 6am to 4pm – with the possibility of working 6am to 6pm
• 45 hours per week
• £13.90 per hour – paid weekly

Please note: Own transport is required due to the location of the site.

As a Recycling Operative, your duties will include:

• Manually sorting and separating waste materials on the process line to recover recyclable elements
• Carrying out cleaning and hygiene duties to maintain a high standard across the site
• Operating mobile plant and equipment where trained, instructed and qualified to do so
• Reporting any defects affecting the safe operation of equipment immediately
• Wearing correct PPE at all times and complying with all health and safety procedures

To be considered as a Recycling Operative, you will need:

• Good physical fitness – the role involves regular upper body movement and standing for long periods
• A full UK driving licence is advantageous
• Previous experience in a factory, processing or recycling environment is advantageous
• A reliable, safety‑conscious approach to work
