Gateshead Council is seeking a Waste Education and Engagement Coordinator to improve recycling across the borough. You will work directly with residents and communities to raise awareness, encourage positive behaviour change, and help reduce waste sent for disposal.

The role involves identifying contamination hotspots using data, conducting door-to-door engagement, and coordinating campaigns and bin deliveries.

Formación

• GCSEs including Maths and English (or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across the borough.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with residents and partners.
• Experience in the waste sector is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Identify areas with recycling contamination and target intervention.
• Interrogate Bartec data to pinpoint areas needing engagement.
• Carry out door-step and face-to-face engagement with residents and communities.
• Be available to work outside normal hours to engage with different sections of the community.
• Monitor contamination levels and promote recycling containers and services.
• Support communications campaigns, leaflets, roadshows and events.
• Collaborate with recycling services and partner agencies on campaigns and bin delivery.
